Notice
EPA announces the release of the Toxicological Review of 1,1,2,2-tetrachloroethane in the September 24, 2009 Federal Register Notice. This draft assessment is provided for public viewing and comment. Public comments received on the Toxicological Review within 60 days after the release of the FRN will be provided to the external peer reviewers for their consideration. Any comments not received within the requested time period will be considered by EPA in their revisions. EPA also announces a public listening session to be held on October 14, 2009. The date and location of the external peer review meeting will be provided in a separate announcement.
EPA is conducting a peer review of the scientific basis supporting the human health hazard and dose-response assessment of 1,1,2,2-tetrachloroethane that will appear on the Integrated Risk Information System (IRIS) database.Background
History/Chronology
| Mar 1987 | An assessment for 1,1,2,2-tetrachloroethane is currently available on IRIS and contains a carcinogenicity assessment last revised in 1994. |
| 2003 | 1,1,2,2-tetrachloroethane was nominated for reassessment by the Office of Air and Radiation/OAQPS and Region 4. |
| Sep 2009 | EPA released an external review draft of the assessment for public review and comment. |
