Endangered Species Contacts at NMFS and FWS

If an Operator covered under EPA’s PGP becomes aware of an adverse incident affecting a federally listed threatened or endangered species or its federally designated critical habitat which may have resulted from a discharge from the Operator’s pesticide application, the Operator must immediately notify NMFS in the case of an anadromous or marine species, or FWS in the case of a terrestrial or freshwater species. This notification must be made by telephone, to the contacts listed below, immediately upon the Operator becoming aware of the adverse incident, and must include at least the following information:
  1. The caller’s name and telephone number;
  2. Operator name and mailing address;
  3. The name of the affected species;
  4. How and when the Operator became aware of the adverse incident;
  5. Description of the location of the adverse incident;
  6. Description of the adverse incident and the pesticide product, including the EPA pesticide registration number, for each product applied in the area of the adverse incident; and
  7. Description of any steps the Operator has taken or will take to alleviate the adverse impact to the species.
