Description:
To provide technical information on pollution prevention technologies, and management approaches. The project is designed to provide information which will reduce uncertainty and speed pollution prevention efforts in a cost-effective manner for municipalities, industry and government. The approach being used is development of nine Pollution Prevention Technical Bulletins with a major focus on the Common Sense Initiative and Design for the Environment industries. Articles are written under the direction of investigators by technical environmental professionals. The eight page bulletin is distributed as an insert into the Water Environment Federation's Industrial Wastewater Magazine, which has a circulation of approximately 34,000 subscribers.
It is expected that the bulletin will increase industries awareness of pollution prevention strategies and programs, thus reducing uncertainties of benefits of pollution prevention. It is envisioned that industry will apply some of the pollution prevention concepts outlined in the bulletin.
